Huawei’s Watch Fit 5 Pro is a slim, rectangular fitness watch with a titanium bezel, a sapphire-covered AMOLED screen and a price well below most premium smartwatches. The two reviews published so far agree on its biggest strength: about eight days of battery life in real-world wear.
This is a documented review: I brought together Huawei’s official specs and the measured results published by T3 and GSMArena, then added my own verdict.

The watch launched in China in April, then went on sale internationally, including the UK, on May 7.
Design and display
The Fit 5 Pro keeps the long rectangular shape of the Watch Fit line but moves up in materials. The bezel is titanium alloy, the screen is covered by 2.5D sapphire glass, and the case weighs 30.4 g without the strap. T3 lists the dimensions as 44.5 x 40.8 x 9.5 mm. It is rated 5 ATM for water resistance.
The display is a 1.92-inch flexible AMOLED panel with LTPO refresh from 1 to 60Hz and a claimed 3,000 nits peak brightness. On paper that is brighter than many watches that cost more, and it is the kind of number that matters when you check your pace on a sunny seafront run.
Inside, Huawei lists dual-band, five-system GNSS for location, 64GB of storage, ECG, pulse-wave arrhythmia detection and TruSleep 5.0 for sleep tracking. What caught my attention is that ECG and dual-band GPS, features usually reserved for more expensive models, are part of this package.
Battery and charging
The battery is 471 mAh according to GSMArena. Huawei claims up to 10 days of light use, 7 days of typical use, 4 days with the always-on display and 25 hours in trail-run mode, with “60 mins charge to capacity”.
The two published reviews beat Huawei’s typical-use figure:
- T3 got “just over 8 days” of near 24/7 wear, and charged the watch from 8% to full in about 40 minutes.
- GSMArena reported “8 days of use” with notifications, 4 to 5 training sessions and sleep tracking.
| Test | Result | Reviewer |
|---|---|---|
| Near 24/7 wear | Just over 8 days | T3 |
| Notifications, 4 to 5 workouts, sleep tracking | 8 days | GSMArena |
| Charge from 8% to full | About 40 minutes | T3 |
Two tests with different routines landing on about eight days is a good sign. And a 40-minute charge in T3’s test means that even when the watch runs out, it is back on your wrist quickly. GSMArena does point out one annoyance: the charging cable ends in USB-A, which feels dated when most chargers now use USB-C.
What reviewers agree on
Strengths:
- Long battery life, about 8 days in both tests
- Very bright, sapphire-covered AMOLED screen
- Slim titanium build at 30.4 g
- Strong fitness feature set for the price
- Good value
Weaknesses:
- Limited third-party app selection
- Fewer features when paired with an iPhone
- A proprietary strap system
- USB-A charging cable (GSMArena)
- An incremental upgrade over its predecessor (T3)
Who should buy it
If you want a fitness tracker that you can forget to charge for a week, with a screen you can read in bright sun and a build that feels premium, the Fit 5 Pro is an easy recommendation. It suits runners, cyclists and gym-goers who care more about tracking and battery than about installing apps on their wrist.
If you live inside the Apple ecosystem, I would think twice. Reviewers note fewer features with an iPhone, and the app selection is limited compared with watches built around Google’s or Apple’s platforms. Owners of the previous model may also find little reason to upgrade, since T3 calls it incremental.
For readers in the region, this one is officially available. Huawei opened pre-orders on its official UAE online store on May 11, according to Gadgets Middle East and Khaleej Times. I could not confirm the price on an official Huawei page, and I found no Saudi price, so check Huawei’s local store before you buy.
Verdict
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro does not try to be a full smartwatch, and I think that is its strength. The T3 and GSMArena results point to about eight days of battery and a fast recharge, and the spec sheet adds a bright sapphire screen, titanium and ECG at a price below most premium rivals. The weak app ecosystem and the limited iPhone support are the trade-offs to accept.
My rating is 8.2/10: one of the best-value fitness watches of the spring, especially for Android users.
