The OnePlus 15 went on sale in Europe, the UK and India yesterday, and the first wave of reviews agrees on one thing above all: this phone’s battery life sets new records in lab tests. The questions are about everything around that battery, especially the cameras, and about whether it is available where you live.

This is a documented review: I brought together the published specs and the measured results from testers such as GSMArena, Engadget, Tom’s Guide and TechRadar, then added my own verdict.

Design and display

OnePlus launched the 15 in China in October 2025 and brought it to Europe, the UK and India on November 13, according to GSMArena’s launch pricing report. The phone uses a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, which makes it one of the more interesting choices for fast games.

Brightness is the weak spot. GSMArena measured 787 nits with manual brightness, 1,364 nits in auto mode and a 1,940-nit peak in auto. Tom’s Guide recorded a 1,222-nit peak. Both outlets found the screen dimmer than its main rivals, which matters for anyone who spends time outdoors in strong sun.

The look divides opinion. TechRadar’s Philip Berne liked the design, while Engadget called it derivative, and the wider reviewer consensus describes it as plainer than before. Around the back there are three 50MP cameras: a wide, a 3.5x telephoto and an ultra-wide, plus a 32MP selfie camera. The phone runs Android 16, and memory options are 12GB or 16GB with storage from 256GB to 1TB.

Battery, charging and performance

The 7,300 mAh battery is the story here. The three main outlets ran three different tests, and it helps to keep them separate rather than mixing the numbers:

  • Video rundown: Engadget’s Igor Bonifacic recorded 38 hours 30 minutes, which he noted is “8 hours longer than OnePlus 13”.
  • Web surfing: Tom’s Guide’s John Velasco measured 25 hours 13 minutes.
  • Active Use Score: GSMArena gave it “23:07h”.

Whatever the method, the conclusion is the same, and reviewers describe the battery life as record-setting.

Charging is just as strong. The phone supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, though Engadget notes that US units come with an 80W charger in the box. With 120W charging, GSMArena measured 44% after 15 minutes, 78% after 30 minutes and a full charge in 41 minutes. Tom’s Guide came out slightly ahead at 45% and 81% at the same points.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 puts the OnePlus 15 in the top tier for speed. In Geekbench 6, Tom’s Guide recorded 3,618 single-core and 11,116 multi-core, while Engadget got 3,696 and 11,187.

What reviewers agree on

Strengths:

  • Record-setting battery life across three different test methods.
  • Very fast wired charging, plus 50W wireless.
  • Top-tier performance from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
  • A 165Hz display that suits games.

Weaknesses:

  • Cameras behind Apple, Google and Samsung, especially in low light, with smaller sensors than the OnePlus 13.
  • Lower peak brightness than rivals.
  • A plainer design, although TechRadar liked it.
  • Engadget points to 4 years of software updates, against 7 for rivals.

Who should buy it

If your biggest frustration with phones is the charger, the OnePlus 15 is built to answer exactly that. What caught my attention is how consistent the battery praise was: three outlets, three methods, one verdict.

If you mostly judge a phone by its photos, look elsewhere. Reviewers were clear that the cameras trail the big three, and the smaller sensors compared with the OnePlus 13 make that a step back rather than forward. The shorter update promise also matters if you keep phones for five years or more.

For readers in the Arab world, the practical problem is availability. I could not find an official OnePlus launch or official price for the Gulf, and prices on local listing sites are not official. Buying through unofficial channels usually means uncertain warranty support, so weigh that before ordering.

Verdict

The OnePlus 15 is a battery phone first and a flagship second, and in my view that is a perfectly good reason to buy it. The test results from Engadget, Tom’s Guide and GSMArena are exceptional, charging is very fast, and performance is top-tier. Engadget scored it 87/100, and TechRadar gave it 5/5.

The camera gap, the dimmer screen and the shorter update window keep it from a higher score here. If endurance matters more to you than night photos, this is the one to beat. TechKahwa rating: 8.5/10.
